Principal's Message 
I am delighted to welcome you to William Guy Sanders Middle School’s web site. As you know, the middle school experience is an exciting time in which students grow academically, physically, emotionally and socially. To assist students with this transition, our school provides a rich history of outstanding faculty members dedicated to offering students a strong academic program. Our mission is to prepare every student to be a successful, contributing citizen in a global society by providing an effective and high quality education. Our main focus is student learning and the main place is W. G. Sanders Middle School, where we are "Simply the Best!"
W. G. Sanders Middle School is a Making Middle Grades Work (MMGW) school, which makes us a part of an effort-based school improvement initiative for creating an environment that supports students in mastering a rigorous academic curriculum. We are committed to cultivating such an environment by providing a rigorous academic core curriculum, by ensuring supportive relationships between students and adults, by working with parents and students to set goals, and by providing school leadership that focuses on collaboration and professional development for our staff.
As we work together to enhance student learning, we invite you to share in our school-based literacy initiative by attending our Family Reading Nights. Throughout the year, we will use our web site to share book talks, home-based reading strategies, and other engaging literacy activities. This web site will be essential for checking up on the different events and for staying in touch with what goes on each day at our school. Use Parent Connect regularly to monitor your child ’s grades and attendance. Be sure to bookmark our site for easy access when you want to return.
