School Recognition


     WG Sanders’ Business Education program was awarded the 1st Middle School Programs to Watch Award for the district. The CATE Middle School Programs to Watch the office of CATE’s newest award to honor outstanding Middle level CATE Programs.

    The Middle School Programs to Watch Award Criteria is as follows:  Active Middle School Student Organization for CATE, Document Work Based Learning Experiences, Documented Community Service, Active Advisory Board.  The CATE Prize Portal came to the school to deliver the teachers with a Middle School Programs To Watch banner and a $250.00 check to purchase instructional supplies to support their Programs.

    Laptop Procedure for Students
    Student laptops will be collected on May 16th and  May 17th for summer storage.  All students must return their laptop and charger.   As a reminder, students must pay the one time insurance fee of $30.00 for the 2015-2016 school year.  If the laptop or charger is not returned or damaged, additional fees will be charged to the student.

    Online Registration/InfoSnap

    Starting March 1st, Student Registration and Returning Student Enrollment Verification for the 2016-2017 school year will be moving to online.

    Richland School District One will be launching a new process called “Returning Student Enrollment Verification” that will be done through an online system called InfoSnap.

    New Student Registration will take place from March 1 to May 31, 2016, and Returning Student Enrollment Verification will take place from May 1 to May 31, 2016.

    Virus/Stomach Bug Prevention
    Please make sure your children are washing or sanitizing their hands as often as possible. The nurse suggests having each of them use hand sanitizer upon entering and leaving the classroom to prevent the spread of germs.

    From the Principal

    I take great pride in being the principal of W. G. Sanders Middle School because of the wonderful staff, students and parents. I continue to be amazed with the rich history of traditions that help prepare students for a successful career in high school. This year we are implementing a wide variety of developmentally appropriate strategies in facilitating the learning for our students. Teachers continue to infuse technology into student lessons, and teachers continue to provide a challenging curriculum for our students. Stop by our parent and community center to find ways in which you can support our community initiatives. Also, take a look at our mission statement, our beliefs and our action plans. Give us feedback as we continue to monitor and enhance our instructional program. I look forward to working with all of you.
